President’s Day is Goblin Day

I could go into all kinds of political hoo-ha about the above statement, but in our household, it was actual Goblin Day. While hubby is recouping, munchkin and I went to see The Spiderwick Chronicles. As my friend MaryAnn over at the FlickFilosopher.com mentioned, Freddie Highmore has become one hell of an actor. [side note: Some of these british kids (ie the Harry Potter crew) are absolutely fantastic! The closest thing I can find here in the states to date has been Shia LaBouef. If he can just hold it together and not go all Drew/Lindsey/Britney on us, he might go places.]

Back to the movie… another fave of mine, David Strathairn, was Arthur Spiderwick. I try to catch him in as much as I can. Fell for him when he was on The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd. The movie was full of action and adventure, sadness and trust issues. Very well done! Makes you think to find the magic in all that’s around you.

Anyway, check out the movie, and check out MaryAnn’s website for any info on movies you are considering. Great, snarky commentary on all that’s showing on the big screen and some things on the smaller as well.
