Congratulations

Dear Mr. President-Elect~

Congratulations! You have been chosen as the leader of the United States. Please, oh please, do take care. You were voted in on a promise of change. Of fixing what is broken. Of working hard to make things better. Of hope.

And I do hope, Mr. President-Elect. I hope that we can all work together to fix this. That the supporters of your rival will put aside their anger and decide that this time, here and now, is when we all come together as one America and put ourselves back on top. Because we can’t do it without them. We will never do it if we keep playing this game. If we keep acting like we are 7 years old, on the playground, with hurt feelings because Mary decided she wanted to play with Susie instead of with me.

This will not be easy. The past 8 years have been hard on a lot of us. We, as a nation and as a people, are hurting. We’re broken. And there’s no one else out there to fix us. We have to, HAVE TO, do it ourselves. The past months of campaigning have not made it any better. We have now been pitted against each other, as wild hyenas fighting over a carcass. The words of hate, of tearing down, of division, must stop now. By January 20th, we the people of the United States of America, must stand as a united force, not one divided. We must take what we see and repair it. Neighbor, friend, rival, enemy. All working together as one.

And I believe you can help us do this, Mr. President-Elect. I believe you are a strong person, with strong shoulders. You have shown us you can take the high road and not be pulled into the muck. You can unite us with your beliefs in our country. And all we need to do is listen and work together with you to make it happen.

I look forward to working with all of you. I am proud of our country. I have been embarrassed of late that we have been so divisive, derisive, down-right nasty. But I hope it will all end now. We can do this. We must do this.
