I’m trying to decide if I’m going to make pages for the calendars again this year. We don’t have much money because of the economy, so I decided to cut way back on our gift giving. And with the cost of ink for my printer, this ended up being a more expensive venture than I thought it would be. I don’t know. There’s still a LITTLE more time to think about it.

This is one of the ornaments on our tree. I liked how the light was shining off Santa’s beard and how he was nestled into a little hollow of the needles.

The ball of stuffing was a little rubbery and the beans a little watery, but all in all a very passable meal. Certainly not a gourmet feast, but what do you expect from a public school?

I looked at the calendar on my desk at work and realized I never uploaded my page here.

This is from last Hallowe’en in our front yard. I had this really cool (‘ghoul’?) rusty looking candelabra and some bone candles (as they burn, they drip blood) along with the gravestone and a pile of plastic skeleton bones. We kept trying all these configurations of these items and just couldn’t figure out what to do with them. Finally as Munchkin was off to trick or treat, I lit the candles and put the candelabra next to the gravestone to illuminate it. When Hubby saw that, he grabbed a hand and a pile of leaves and made the vignette above. Add in some spooky music and a strobe light and we had some freaked out kiddies.

heehee

Anyhoo… here is the calendar page for this month. Look at me getting it out on time. Amazing! (Gotta love the pre-scheduling feature!)

This is munchkin with his Tae Kwon Do instructor, Mr. Church. He had just gotten his black belt. YAY, I’m the mom of a black belt! Now he’s Level 3 black belt. He’s taking a little time off from classes (he needed a break as did our bank account). We should be back once we get school under control again. Plus we’ve decided we’d also like to take guitar lessons (go figure). So it looks like a busy schedule coming up soon.

Enjoy the calendar! Looks like I’ll be using mine a lot more real soon…

The trip started out disastrous, got pretty good (bordering on fantastic) once we arrived, stayed longer than we meant (due to the earlier disaster), then we came home to more disaster. But everything has turned out for the MUCH better, so don’t think I’m complaining, just stating how it was.

Part of staying longer than we meant was getting to go with my family on a whale watch in Provincetown, or P-town as it is lovingly called. While we were out we got to see the most amazing creatures. I must get a better camera and go again for better pictures as the ones I took did not do them justice. I used one of the better images I shot for this calendar page.

The picture on this month’s calendar page is the waterfall at Vogel State Park. I picked it for June because hubby really enjoyed the day we spent there hiking and splashing in the lake. It is quite pretty there.

Here is the May calendar. Yep, that’s me and the munchkin.

News on the homefront, hubby has found a job. Taking a break from kitchens for a bit. Well, sort of. He did do some carvings for the magazine again. Watch his site for some pics. It was a “green” issue and they asked for natural glasses for beverages. Kind of a cool concept. Speaking of my work (as the magazine is produced by iMi) I just got a promotion! I am training to become a Project Manager. YAY!!! I’m very much looking forward to it. I’ll let you know how it goes.

When we went hiking in Vogel State Park last year, we kept seeing white petals everywhere. If anyone has any idea what the plant is, please feel free to let me know.
