<p>Yay&#8230; it looks like we are. And now that it is even later, I will sum up what I took 311 words to say earlier.</p>
<ol>
<li>I&#8217;m back</li>
<li>My son and I will be baking cupcakes from a kit (a Yule gift) and uploading our kitchen hi-jinks weekly</li>
<li>Work is great but crazy. Still LOVE what I do. But 2012 is the year of moderation. No more 10PM nights for me and my team.</li>
<li>I am writing a book series. No, really, I am.</li>
<li>I will be using this spot for fun, release of frustration, etc. If you are family or friend, and I allude to you here (no names will ever be used) I am JUST BLOWING OFF STEAM. Everyone needs a way to do it. This is mine. I love you, you love me, allow me my area to do my thing.</li>
</ol>
<p>Less than half the words I used before. HAH!</p>
<p>Here&#8217;s to 2012. Let&#8217;s make it great (or at least better than last year.)</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Oh, yes. I have them. I don&#8217;t normally share them, but I do have them. My biggest for this year? To get healthy and lose weight. That appears to be two, but they go hand in hand.</p>
<p>I&#8217;ve done well since New Year&#8217;s Day. Stuck to the diet portion, anyway. A bit rocky back there on the anniversary day, but still, not too far off. My birthday will probably be a bust. I do so want a piece of red velvet cake. <img src='http://www.spellweavers.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif' alt=':)' class='wp-smiley' /> </p>
<p>Starting tomorrow I am adding exercise back in the mix. Due to crazy hours, early nights and no money for a gym membership, I haven&#8217;t had much chance to work out. But I have a slightly different mindset. Sit ups, walking up and down stairs and dancing around the house can all be considered exercise. On days I can get outside (like Saturdays and Sundays) I can go to the park and start walking/jogging again, but for days I can&#8217;t, a good 50 or so sit ups and push ups can go a long way.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I am in the process of change around here. It is a new year and hopefully a new me will come forth. (Though the old me isn&#8217;t so bad. Just a few little adjustments here and there.)</p>
<p>Obvious change &#8211; I upgraded my WordPress. And unfortunately lost my design. I had to revert to the old one. But this is okay. I have a brand new design waiting in the wings. It will be up soon.</p>
<p>I will also be working more on Sailor Hubby&#8217;s &#8220;Chef&#8221; site. He still wants to have it up. So I guess I will be updating it soon as well.</p>
<p>And last (for this post), but certainly not least, I am taking a more hands on interest in my health and well being. I have started dieting and exercising. Back on December 3rd I told you about DCUrbanDad&#8217;s Fitness Challenge. And I sucked. I didn&#8217;t post anything. Sorry. But I have lost about 15 pounds since just before Thanksgiving. I also didn&#8217;t win the challenge, but I did win a slightly healthier me. I upped my exercise to 30 minutes, 3-4 times per week. I now eat 2 pieces of fresh fruit per day and a salad at both lunch and dinner. I have mostly cut out sweets (but since Christmas, when I received A TON of sweets [thanks Dad] I&#8217;ve been eating more than I should). I&#8217;ve noticed my clothes fitting looser and a decline in the huffing and puffing when exerting myself. So those are good things.</p>
<p>And I also earned a Fitness Challenge booby prize. Enjoy it with me, won&#8217;t you? Thanks Matt! and congratulations SeriouslyMama! I look forward to the next Challenge.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>I have been trying to get healthier over the past year and have been failing miserably. As much as I would love to lose weight, I really just want to get healthier. To not be on medication. To not worry.</p>
<p>And even knowing I need to make changes, I am having a bitch of a time doing it. I start and stop all the time. But I need to buck up and put together a schedule and, like Nike says, just do it.  Two weeks ago I started and made it a whole week. &lt;GASP!!!&gt; ThenThanksgiving week happened. My morning schedule got all discombobulated and I didn&#8217;t do any exercise. Then with the actual holiday, the foods I ate weren&#8217;t exactly good for me. Blech.</p>
<p>Well, this week I have started out okay. Monday and Tuesday I exercised. Monday&#8217;s diet got blown out of the water, but Tuesday I stuck to it. Today I stuck to the diet, even with the company holiday party, but I didn&#8217;t get my exercise on. We&#8217;ll have to see what the rest of the week holds.</p>
<p>Regardless, starting on Friday, I am taking the <a href="http://mattnando.typepad.com/dcurbandad/2008/11/big-hairy-holiday-fitness-challenge.html" target="_blank">DC Urban Dad Challenge</a>. I am hopeful that the challenge, the forced accountability, and the camaraderie of a group of people will be enough to push me forward. I will update here weekly. I will not give you my actual weight, but will tell you of the weight loss, if there is any and the points I earn or lose.</p>
<p>Wish me luck and come back to see how I do.</p>
