I love the group Train. Ever since a friend of mine introduced them to me through Drops of Jupiter, I have become obsessed with their songs. I’ve been known to listen to Drops of Jupiter, Calling All Angels, and now this, Hey Soul Sister, over and over and over again. This particular song has been stuck in my head for weeks now. Hopefully this will help to purge it (not that I mind, but there are other songs out there I like to listen to. ).

Music Monday: Classic Rock

I have learned that my music preferences may be hindering the musical growth of Munchkin. I listen to a lot of Celtic and new age. I also listen to a lot of alternative rock, but I don’t often listen to classic rock. I love that genre as well and should really devote a little time to it for his listening chops.
Tonight we heard Rolling Stones’ Paint it Black and Sympathy for the Devil, then Led Zeppelin’s Kashmir. I’m thinking one or two songs per night from the classic rock period should do it. BUT what is considered classic rock AND what would you include in your playlist?
Stones, Zeppelin, Rush… I want a good, well-rounded musical education… so help me out here.

Both Munchkin and I were off today for Presidents Day. I let him invite a friend and we met Marine Da at the movie theatre to watch Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief. I thought it was quite good and the boys seemed to enjoy it. Even Da stayed awake through the whole thing (though he was unable to keep his mouth shut… gah, I hate it when people talk in the movies.) Anyway, in remembrance of a certain scene (mostly because the song was unexpected if apropos), here is Lady GaGa’s “Pokerface”.
